Twenty years ago, as I was coming out of college at the University of Illinois, I had considered becoming an advisor for a large company. I was largely put off because I felt that their products didn't do a great job of generating wealth for the investors. On top of that, as a new advisor, you were required to offer them to your personal network. Offering products that I didn't believe in to people I care about didn't resonate with me, and I ultimately didn't choose to go that way. Today, I have found a way to offer products that I do believe in to people who I do care about.
